Dr. Dog: The Ark (MP3) and Hang On (Video)

They already sang about the old days, now they’re singing about the biblical days. Dr. Dog, the best Beatles appropriates Philadelphia has to offer, go back to the time of Noah on “The Ark,” an awesome, slow-burning, rhythm-heavy track from their forthcoming Fate LP (out July 22 on Park the Van).

Plus, the band recently allowed Stereogum to tape them play “Hang On” (also off Fate). (Check the hats the guitarists are wearing. I swear my grandpa and his friends wear those exact hats, and dress similarly.) The video shows a bit of the fiery performances the band are known for. And the track finds the middle ground between “The Old Days” and “The Ark.”
