Jimmy Fallon’s music booker Jonathan Cohen has been talking about his refreshingly open policy when it comes to getting artists to appear on the show, and he continued in that vein last night by getting Philly psych-rockers Dr. Dog to perform. The band is currently promoting its Shame Shame record, and played the opening track, “Stranger.”
This is actually the second time the band has appeared on the show—they’re practically late night talk show veterans now—and demonstrates what a well-drilled live machine Dr. Dog has become. “Stranger” is a pleasant, poppy track, full of strange twists and turns and pitch-perfect harmonies that are well suited for the onrush of summer.
