Dr. Dog: "Shadow People"

"Shadow People," the first single from Dr. Dog's upcoming Shame, Shame LP, is ostensibly about the band's hometown of Philadelphia. I'm not sure what "shadow people" means re: Philadelphia, but apparently its about the kind of people who hang out in basements and wander neighborhoods in Philadelphia and bemoan the fact that "something's gone." There's also some references to maybe being transvestites, which I don't really get either. The one thing I can get with little problem is the fact that these dudes are still pretty hard in the pants for doing '60s pop. Go here to listen.
