Dr. Dog didn’t get a chance to perform on Jimmy Kimmel’s vast outdoor stage last night (April 28), which is a shame as the band’s music is fully deserving of crossing over to an unsuspecting audience. Instead, they performed an in-studio set of “I Only Wear Blue” and “Stranger” from new album Shame, Shame.
Both songs are bouncy pieces of pop-psychedelia, full of catchy vocal melodies and fuzzed up bittersweet guitar sounds. The move to ANTI- should help the band increase its audience, even if the direction of Shame, Shame does err on the darker side of the Dr. Dog psyche.
