Allen Iverson's unintentionally hilarious "practice" speech has been used again and again by rappers, producers, comedians, etc... to the point you would think it's played out. But for Don Trip's latest tune named after the former Philadelphia 76ers great, he's using quotes from the speech in a totally different way. With some help from Cool & Dre, the Memphis rapper paints a picture of his life up until this point.
And it's one filled with fickle females, slimy friends and enemies, and a lack of respect. In other words, Trip's just trying to find success as an artist but keeps running into bullshit. Hopefully he can get past all that when he drops his new project, Guerilla, on NBA All-Star Weekend, aka Feb. 24-26. Stream/download the track below.
