Dom: "Living In America" (Expensive Looks Remix)

It's been less than a year since the Worcester, MA trio Dom formed, but they're already thinking of their music in the longterm. "'Living in America' is sort of facetious," Dom (both the name of the band and the lead singer) told Pitchfork. "What I really wanted to do was make a 'YMCA'-type track that I would be best known for but forever hate myself for writing. Politicians can totally use it at campaigns as long as they pay me. But America's pretty awesome. I can't say enough for Worcester, Massachusetts. It's a utopia."

While it's doubtful that politicians will be knocking on Dom's door anytime soon, Expensive Looks, the one-man project of bedroom pop mastermind Alec Feld, seems to have taken the grandiose statement to heart. Feld's remix of "Living in America" stretches the track out to nearly twice the length of the original, turning it into a stuttering, glitched-out epic ideal for nighttime cross-country drives.
