DJ/Rupture rarely rests, and his latest project involved making a mix to compliment the recent book titled Harlem is Nowhere by Sharifa Rhodes-Pitts. The Fader reports that the book is “named after a Ralph Ellison essay that deals with the black and the human experience of being without a stable identity or place in society,” and you can read more about it and/or order a copy via this link. Rupture’s mix features a typically eclectic selection, from Gil Scott-Heron’s “New York Is Killing Me” to tracks by Das Racist and Shabazz Palaces.
