It seems like just last week that news broke about this mixtape from DJ Revolution, who also produces, and rapper duo Malcolm & Martin. But here we have the project, Malcolm & Martin were...Criminal Minded, a mixtape that works as an ode on several levels. First, as their names would imply, the two MCs embody the political themes of Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. But they also are using this project to recall the classic Boogie Down Productions album, Criminal Minded. The result is a politically fueled, boom bap-filled mixtape that will likely have you checking for Revolution and Malcolm & Martin's proper album, 2011's Life Doesn't Frighten Me.
