Dinosaur Jr: In the Studio (Pitchfork.tv) (Video)

The normally reticent J Mascis from Dinosaur Jr. has provided unprecedented access to Pitchfork.tv for this In the Studio clip. A film crew heads to Mascis’ studio in Amherst to document the band’s recording process, and although the singer is characteristically quiet, bass player Lou Barlow and producer John Agnello talk lucidly about their set up.

Agnello even makes a crack about the Web Sheriff as the filming focuses on the sessions for the forthcoming Dinosaur Jr. album, which should emerge sometime this summer. Best of all, we get to see the band performing a few songs, and Masics’ trademark warm and fuzzy guitar riffs are likely to leave fans salivating at the prospect of that new record.
