In 2006, indie folk hero Sufjan Stevens compiled a series of holiday-themed EPs he had previously given to friends and family into his first Christmas album, Songs For Christmas. This holiday season, Stevens returns with a second installment of these gifted EPs — Silver & Gold: Songs For Christmas, Vols. 6-10

Stevens recently shared a cut off Silver & Gold‘s seventh volume, I Am Santa’s Helper entitled “Ding-a-ling-a-ring-a-ling.” Those familiar with the religious undertones of Stevens’ canon shouldn’t be shocked to discover the jaunty, endearingly sloppy song celebrates the “reason for the season” — but for us non-believing heathens, there’s plenty here to help get listeners into the holiday spirit. (Stevens also released an acapella version of the song on his official Tumblr.)

Silver & Gold will be released on Nov. 13 via Steven’s Asthmatic Kitty imprint.
