Diddy: "Yesterday" f. Chris Brown (Video)

· by

Director Colin Tilley employs all the classic car commercial/rap video tropes for the latest single off Diddy's Last Train to Paris. There's Diddy and Brown in the desert at night, there they are looking menacing in leather jackets in a ring of fire, there they are standing on a cliff beneath lightning, there's Breezy inexplicably shirtless and dancing. It's kinda played out, is what I'm saying.

"Yesterday" is not, unfortunately, a cover of the Beatles song, but it feels like Diddy's scraping the bottom of his album for singles by now. I've listened to this song a few times, and I can't really discern whether there is any real melody other than some incessant wailing to stand in for a hook. The track just builds and builds, as Chris Brown (Diddy's verses are pretty blink-and-you-missed-'em) carries this song on his back.

Last Train To Paris is out now.
