Devo: "Fresh" (MP3)
There’s an as-yet untitled new Devo album due out in May, and the band took an unusual step on the road to promoting it by appearing at the Winter Olympics last night (Feb. 22). The next step on the road to Devo-lution is this MP3, titled “Fresh,” which is currently streaming and available to download at this site.
“Fresh” is a less musically adventurous number than Devo tracks of old, although it’s perhaps not realistic to expect them to come up with another Duty Now for the Future or Freedom of Choice. “Fresh” will appear on that upcoming album, which will be the first studio record from the group in exactly 20 years.

Devo at the Winter Olympics in 2010. What an odd collection of nouns.
Alright, this track is pretty fantastic. It's like they never left (or got bad).
I like "Fresh" too. It's less experimental but that doesn't make it less enjoyable. I like that the new songs are very guitar driven. I think they managed to sound current but sill retain their uniqueness and quirkiness and their unmistakable DEVO sound. I am really looking forward to the new album.
