Deradoorian: "Marichka"
The last we heard from Deradoorian -- who you otherwise know as Angel Deradoorian from Dirty Projectors -- she was pushing her very good Mind Raft EP that was reissued last October with some extra remixes. She's back here with a brand new track, "Marichka," that she co-produced with some help from Avey Tare. You can hear his influence throughout, though that's not to say Deradoorian's not at the helm here. The clanging drums, ratty guitars, and tribal vibes serve as the complement to her awesome-as-always vocals, which she layers beautifully in certain spots.
