Depeche Mode

"Come Back" (Video)

I think Depeche Mode realized that no matter how they tried, they'd never be able to top the video for "Wrong" on this promotional cycle. So when it came time for the video for the prickly ballad "Come Back," they opted for a simple live in-studio clip.  There's still a sense of drama, though, thanks to Dave Gahan's facial expressions and the black background.

"Come Back" is on Depeche Mode's Sounds of the Universe, which is due out on April 21 via Mute/EMI. [Pitchfork]

I believe as many other fans of Depeche Mode since early 80's, that Wrong is nothing compared with their times with Alan Wilder. Depeche Mode is not succeding in walking on their own steps again trying to re invent a sound that belong to Alan Wilder.

Regarding the theme "Come back" I believe is way superior than Wrong, it has a inspiring atmosphere but wait a second... the song played in the studio version is not even close to the one you will get in the album. Just do a quick search for the album version and you will tell the disaster regarding sound and arragements.

If some one believe this is a great album, little know about the actual history of Depeche Mode and their time when they contributed to the world. Is very naive and blind to say they are doing today something better than before. The worst song of any of their albums until Songs of Faith and Devotion would be "the best one ever" in the eyes of their new wave of fans.

Yeah. I don't think this video was an alternative to making a real video. They've been releasing in studio clips on making the album for a while. VJ Rei I also like this version of Come back better, but I got the sense that you think DM haven't done anything worthwhile since Wilder left. I think that's totally wrong. Ultra was an awesome album, and so is SOTU. It would be nice if they collaborated again, but they are just a different band now. That's fine. I still get caught up in Martin's lyrics and Dave's voice. Just because they aren't banging on pots and pans anymore means nothing. They never were giant leaders of a movement. They were the mainstream faces of a movement. DM Forever!
