Department of Eagles: "Brightest Minds"
Department of Eagles, the partnership of Grizzly Bear's Dan Rossen and friend Fred Nicolaus, are releasing a collection of unreleased songs, Archive 2003-2006, this July. Pitchfork has a stream from the first "single" from the project, "Brightest Minds," which is a jangly, harmonious track. Basically, it's Grizzly Bear but with a faster BPM and less control, as this goes off the rails in the final minute. It's a good one, and you can hear it here.
Archive 2003-2006 is due out on July 20 via American Dust.
