A few weeks ago, Deerhunter encouraged its loyal minions to print out and hang up posters advertising their upcoming Halcyon Digest, in the name of old-school punk rock fandom. Today Deerhunter rewarded their street team with a digital 7-inch, the A-side of which being first-single "Revival." The trouble, though, with trying to bring a punk rock ethos to the digital age is that nothing stays exclusive for long: just click here, type in "tapereel" (could've guessed that one), and get the tunes other people had to, you know, do stuff for. Whoever's responsible for the gently intensifying fuzz on "Revival," by the way, gets my vote for the Best Fuzz of the Year Grammy. [Stereogum]
