I suppose the “indie’ in indie rock hasn’t been quite the same since the mid-90s, but the Arcade Fire Grammy nab makes moments like Deerhunter showing up on Letterman feel, well, big. The nevernotworking band stopped by the Late Show for a performance of “Memory Boy” from Halcyon Digest. Performance is good. Letterman calling the band “pretty good” is even better. And Paul Shaffer saying something incomprehensible about the band is a mystery I will mull over this morning.
