Deerhunter

"Disappearing Ink" (Live) (Video)

Deerhunter have been playing a few shows lately, and they’ve taken the opportunity to test out some new material while they’ve been on the road. MTV2 took a camera crew to Atlanta to capture the band members in their practice space, where they performed this exclusive new song, “Disappearing Ink.”

Recent addition to the band Whitney Petty is absent from this recording, as she was from the recent shows, and singer Bradford Cox has unshackled himself from his guitar and instead adds a few blasts of Moog keyboard. The song owes a sizable debt to Cox’s heroes Stereolab, and although this recording suffers from poor sound, it’s clear that the band is heading further toward an all-out pop assault.

A note for for trivia fans: This is the third Deerhunter song to use the word “ink” in the title. [Pitchfork]
