Deerhoof: “This is God Speaking” (Video)

Don’t ever expect Deerhoof to follow an easy route to success. “This is God Speaking” isn’t exactly an obvious choice to promote last year’s Offend Maggie album, but they’ve chosen to make an animated music video in support of the song, which clocks in a little over the 1:15 mark.

The clip is directed by Akiko Carver, who has worked with other artists on the Kill Rock Stars roster, and says that it “took forever” to complete the video. A creepy, David Lynch vibe permeates throughout the clip, which depicts mankind’s evolution from apes to humans, showing that Carver isn't fully up to speed with current news events.
