I'm pretty sure I own the headphones that make an appearance in this video by Asha Schechter. The video showcases all the devices and places that people use to listen to music, and the sound quality shifts as the video moves from expensive-looking stereo equipment to a MacBook whose factory speakers were never meant to play music as sonically interesting as Deerhoof's Offend Maggie. The effect is to emphasize the different ways we interact with music, most of which are of our own choosing and not the band's. Still, I was left thinking that plugging my iPod into a TV isn't doing justice to Deerhoof.
