This video for "Family of Others," the first in a series of videos directed by friends of Deerhoof who are also in bands, manages to be both wondrous and squirm-inducing at the same time. The clip is made up of microscopic footage of amoebas, fly larvae, crustaceans and plankton. The footage is pretty well matched with Deerhoof's dreamy, plodding track, so it just evades the feeling that things are crawling all over you. The clip was directed by Sara Magenheimer and Eben Portnoy who are members of the bands Flying and Fertile Crescent.
