At the Critics Choice Movie Awards last week, Death Cab for Cutie were on hand to provide a tribute to the dearly departed John Hughes, performing Simple Minds' "Don't You Forget About Me," the song from the closing scene of The Breakfast Club. Predictably, Death Cab make "Don't You" as whiny as can be, and really massacre this thing. I mean, getting burned by your dad's cigar for spilling paint in the garage is preferable to this.
