Here’s a hyper-literal video for “Cath,” the new single off Death Cab for Cutie’s Narrow Stairs, starring indie film star Lukas Haas. The video follows the song to a T, including lining up a lyric saying “his hand on the small of her back” with an image of a man doing just that. The song is one Narrow Stairs better moments; a rocking, straight-ahead story that doesn’t rely on Gibbard’s old clichés.
Narrow Stairs is out now on Atlantic. [MTV]

I love the song, but the video is just.. odd. Its almost overly simple, and the shots of the band members are borderline creepy. |

Yeah, the video linked above is definitely not Death Cab. I have little love for this album on the whole, though. They kinda lost me when I saw them live for the first time back in November 2006. I guess I wasn't expecting Ben Gibbard to be such a... dick? |
