Actor Ryan Gosling's musical side-project, Dead Man's Bones, is notable mainly because it isn't half bad. Dead Man's Bones (which also includes Zach Shields) put out one video back in January for " In the Room Where You Sleep," and they have a new video out today, this one for "Name in Stone," which finds the group walking with a chorus in a graveyard. The song carries on Dead Man's Bones obvious morbid streak, since it's about a dead person, and the video furthers that. Seriously though, who could have thought the cat from The Notebook would be a decent singer? [Pitchfork]
Like everyone else, this project totally snuck up on me. I'm definitely looking forward to more videos and the eventual album.
Actually, not everyone. I've been following them for over a year. Of course, that's been completely irrelevant until recently... But great music. I'm excited for their cd in June.
