Das Racist: "Sabotage" (Live Beastie Boys Cover) (Video)

· by

Going to see Das Racist play live is the most fun you can have with your clothes on, as unsuspecting audiences at SXSW and Todd P's MtyMx are about to find out. Their disastrous February performance of the Beastie Boys’ Paul’s Boutique hasn’t stopped them going back to plunder more songs from that band’s back catalog, as this live video of “Sabotage” demonstrates.

Das Racist are backed up by former Black Dice drummer (and sole member of the excellent Soft Circle) Hisham Bharoocha among others for this show, which was shot at Santos Party House for their Our Show series. It’s not quite as great as this frothing-at-the-mouth post at the Village Voice implies, but it’s certainly a decent version—now the band just needs to hook up with the guys who remade the “Sabotage” video (see below) to complete the act.

This is great, and the song (and video) is proving to be one of those unstoppable forces. Soft Circle is great, too.

I still prefer the Beastie Boys' a capella version on Futurama.

Sabotage, yeah!

Man there are like 5 remakes of the video on YouTube, too.
