The anticipation for Nas and Damian Marley's collaborative album, Distant Relatives, continues to build with this latest leak, "The Promised Land." I have to admit I was apprehensive of this project at first. It just seemed more likely than not that a bunch of tracks with Marley's woozy reggae vocals and Nas's gritty raps would grow tiring after a while. But if these leaks have proved anything, especially the absolutely fantastic "As We Enter," Distant Relatives could actually be pretty damn solid. "The Promised Land" shows off this duo's ability to make a more subdued track perfect for lounging on a weekend afternoon or, you know, smoking that stuff these two artists adore.
You can stream "The Promised Land" at 2DopeBoyz. Distant Relatives, as long as it's not pushed back again, is due out May 18.
