Damian Marley, Nas: "Friends"

The past few days have felt like a full-out promotional tour for Nas and Damian Marley's upcoming Distant Relatives project. When we weren't posting the video for "As We Enter" or the leak for "Africa Must Wake Up," we premiered an interview with the duo outlining their creative process. Like "Africa Must Wake Up," this new leak, "Friends," is very much a more subdued track. But where that cut was more introspective and grandiose, "Friends" is a slightly gritty, biting look at personal relationships. Nas dominates the verses on here while Marley tackles the opening bars and chorus, which seems to be a working formula. Personally, my anticipation for this project just keeps on growing.

I wasn't completely sold when I first heard about this collab, but songs like this have my hopes up.

Yeah, same here. "As We Enter" sold me immediately, though, haha.

This song is amazing. The sample is from one of Angola's greatest musician "David Ze" and is a true recognition of his work. I hope there will be some copies of this project available in Angola because I can not wait to have this album on my hands... This project is for Africa... Thanks Damian Marley and Nas for your effort in helping Africa...
