Dam-Funk: "Tis The Season"
It seems like everyone is getting in the holiday spirit this year. Fellow Prefix writer Julian Hattem drove this point home when commenting on the recently posted Roots performance of "The Christmas Song." Hattem noted: "I feel there there have been infinity more Christmas songs this year than ever before. Right? EVERYONE has one in 2010." I can't argue against that as today we have another holiday joint. This time, it's at least a slight change of pace as Dam-Funk delivers "Tis The Season," which he apparently made last night in Los Angeles. It's straight out of the '80s, like many of his tunes, and carries a DIY vibe thanks to his using a $19.99 Radio Shack microphone.
