While Dam-Funk puts together a proper follow-up to 2009's solid Toeachizown, the Pasadena, Calif.-based funk-lover is apparently working with Stones Throw on another retrospective piece. Last year, he and the label released Adolescent Funk, a project featuring tunes from the years of 1988-1992. It was a revealing piece of work from Funk, who has clearly adored the likes of Funkadelic, Sly & the Family Stone, and other seminal acts since he was a youngster.
This new track, 1990's "I'm Not Easy, But We Can Talk," will appear on the second volume of Adolescent Funk, which doesn't have a release date just yet. It features guest vocals from Leon Sylvers III, who is a silky smooth complement to the thick bass line, "Poison"-esque break, and layers of keys and synthesizers.
