Dam-Funk: "Forever"
efore Dam-Funk releases his new EP, InnaFocusedDaze, tomorrow for free, the multi-talented L.A.lien has dropped one final leak in "Forever." Unlike preceding leak "Inside of U," this tune finds Dam bringing out the funk tricks of old that we heard on the sprawling Toeachizown. Don't let that fool you into thinking this is some rehash of his previous material, though. His songwriting is topnotch here as he simultaneously rips a bass-and-synth groove and works to win the affection of a special lady. The self-professed "mild-mannered L.A. G" also treats us to some gnarly guitar work throughout, which leads to a short-but-sweet solo toward the end.
