Dam-Funk: "Don't You Know (That This Funk Iz Real)" (Prefix Premiere)

In his own words, Dam-Funk "compose[s] #NonIronicFunk. He doesn't "do #RandB. It is what it iz." To make his point clear, the Los Angeles resident has shared yet another fresh track off his new InnaFocusedDaze EP, which drops tomorrow. Earlier today, we grooved along to the romantic funk of "Forever" and now, we're swaying to the undeniable slaps of "Don't You Know (That This Funk Iz Real)."

We're also digging Dam's killer keyboard work and his raunchy guitar shredding. He gave us an example of the latter on "Forever," though here it's a whole lot nastier. In a good way, of course. It dominates the second half of "Don't You Know" and leaves us hoping that he'll continue to highlight his ax-slaying in the future.
