Dam-Funk: "Angel Reflections" (DJ Mehdi Tribute)
Yesterday, the dance music world lost one of its most influential DJs in DJ Mehdi, who died tragically at the age of 34. His passing shook the lives of those closest to him, including his cohorts at Ed Banger, his friends, and those who he inspired. Falling into the latter two categories is Dam-Funk, who late last night uploaded a moving tribute to Mehdi.
"Angel Reflections" is a fittingly somber, albeit slightly hopeful, movement of synthesizers and keys that drifts by gracefully for 12 minutes. He offers the track with the following message: "This 1 is dedicated 2nite 2 all who knew France's DJ Mehdi (R.I.P.) & 2 everyone who has lost a loved 1 within their lives."
