Dam-Funk: "A Day at the Carnival"

Independent record label Proximal Records, which is based out of Los Angeles, has put together a compilation to show off the talent of its city. You know, the talent that has blown up over the past two years thanks to guys like Daedelus, Flying Lotus and the like getting tons of love on the blogs and music sites alike. And Proximity One: Narrative of a City aims to combine both newcomers and mainstays. That means you get tracks like Shlohmo's woozy "Glue Stick" along with Dam-Funk's funky-as-hell "A Day at the Carnival." Pitchforkactually premiered the latter track today, so head over there, throw on some neon clothes, and get ready to shake your ass to the latest line in Dam-Funk's catalog of electro-hop.

Proximity One: A Narrative Of A City is due out Aug. 10.
