
Last week, it was revealed via a preview that Soma Records was releasing an unreleased Daft Punk single, called "Drive," as a part of the label's greatest hits comp, Soma Records 30 Years. A few days later, and we have the song via YouTube. It certainly sounds like Daft Punk did in 1994, which is to say the band that made "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" isn't really here yet. This sort of sounds like what my dad probably thinks Daft Punk sound like when someone describes them to him. It's still more interesting than a lot of what was happening in dance music in 1994, but you wouldn't have bet that Daft Punk would become the biggest dance act on Earth based on this. Listen below.
