As fellow Prefix writer Drew Millard made clear in his review of Curren$y's Weekend At Burnie's, the New Orleans rapper has continued to display an immense knack for consistency and beat selection. He might not fill his verses with quotables or rewind-worthy punchlines, but Spitta stays in his lane of stream-of-consciousness raps and does so in an impressive manner. Proving that point is his latest single, "Still," which now has some appropriately chillin'-centric visuals. The track is the very definition of blunted, laid-back hip-hop, something Curren$y and his pals Young Roddy and Trademark Da Skydiver have down to a science.
Weekend At Burnie's is out now.
