Blunted MC Curren$y is the latest artist to stop by for an episode of Pitchfork TV's Selector series. And in the first part of his time with the website, which you can view below, he gets into why he needs that kind of "open" production by Ski Beatz heard on Pilot Talk. After a little more discussion on that topic, Curren$y chooses between which beat to spit over. He might have liked "Heartland" by Games, but he eventually went with Gold Panda's "Heaps" for his freestyle. It's likely this is actually just a pre-written verse, presumably off his upcoming Pilot Talk 2. But he sounds absolutely perfect over "Heaps," which is what probably prompted him to ask for 16 beats from Gold Panda. Here's hoping that actually happens.
Pilot Talk 2 is due out later this year or in early 2011.
