Since 2007's Dirty Acres, CunninLynguists have had their sights set on solo and side projects. Sure, their two Strange Journey efforts felt more like albums than mixtapes, but they were not what we will call "proper" releases from the trio. Filling that void is Oneirology, which is due out March 22.
And from the sound of its first leak, "Stars Shine Brightest (In the Darkest of Night)," CunninLynguists' fifth album will continue with the serious tone set on Dirty Acres. Deacon the Villain and Natti's verses center around the concept of the fact that those who truly deserve to achieve will do so, even when it seems completely unlikely. And, as usual, their uplifting bars are complemented perfectly by Kno, whose knack for lush, gorgeous beats never ceases to impress.
