Left Behind (Video)

Average Rating: 3.00
CSS has built considerable hype for their upcoming sophomore album Donkey, and to further the hype they have intentionally leaked their video to another song on the list, "Left Behind." Karen Piper at Radar Maker informs us that this is a "D.I.Y. shocker" homemade video. I guess D.I.Y. just means low-fi and low-budget nowadays, as while the video is certain of low quality, it does have Sub Pop's resources at its disposal. The video contributes to the recent trend of using paper masks and stop motion for YouTube videos, and would be much more impressive if it wasn't a prominent band making it (though that never hurt OK Go.) The Brazilian CSS also may not be aware of the more prominent American cultural item titled Left Behind. But at least the song itself is pretty wicked electropop.

DIY means I did this video entirely on my own. I created the concept, I shot it, I directed it, I performed in it... And without any Sub-Pop's resources at my disposal. Just so you know! Also, there is no stop motion on this video.... Thanks for writing about it!!! It means a lot to me!!! All the best, Renata Abbade

I've given the new album a couple of spins and its pretty solid.. but this video is hurting man... I think they shoulda used Sub-Pop's resources.
