In just a few weeks, Crystal Castles is releasing its forthcoming, and highly anticipated, new album, (III), and today, the band shares its third single from the record, "Affection."
As with most of the electro-duo's work, the track begins with crunching synthetic beats, but this song's a little more airy than others. Alice Glass's vocals are (almost) understandable as they float weightlessly atop R&B-tinged percussion and synthesizers. It's still got that dark, mysterious Crystal Castles charm, but it's more of a slow jam. From the sounds of this and its preceding singles ("Plague" and "Wrath of God"), the new album is not going to disappoint,
(III) is set for a November 12 release via Casablanca/Fiction/Universal Republic. Listen to "Affection."
