Crocodiles’ celebrated the Summer of Hate last year, and have apparently been continuing the trend judging from the fuzzy vibe emanating from this clip for “Hearts of Love.” Those Jesus and Mary Chain comparisons aren’t going to go away any time soon, especially with the leather clad, Beach-Boys-on-downers feel of this track and video.
It may not be totally original, but Crocodiles have a great grasp on how to make this kind of lofi pop tune work, and it's expertly matched by the brutal and bloody violence that unexpectedly rises to the fore toward the end of this clip. Clearly, Summer of Hate was a very appropriately titled record.
