“Context Clues” (Video) (Prefix Premiere)

Southeast four-piece Reptar have only continued to impress since they began popping up on the music world’s collective radar in late 2008. And their buzz increased immensely earlier this year with the release of a very good (and oddly named) EP, Oblangle Fizz, Y’all. They’re continuing to give the sample- and synth-heavy project a strong boost this fall with a lengthy tour supporting Foster the People and Phantogram, respectively.

Reptar’s pop-leaning approach is sure to fit in nicely on those bills, especially while playing their romantic, uber-catchy latest single, “Context Clues.” The track’s become even more fetching thanks to some flashy, fun visuals from Alessandra Hoshor. She’s loaded the video with glitter, drawn hand claps, and — best of all — stop-motion animation. Come on: who doesn’t love stop motion?
