Consequence's recently released Movies On Demandmixtape is one of the stronger free projects dropped so far this year. The MC, who first became known to many thanks to A Tribe Called Quest, tackles a number of sounds across the effort, with the top honors going to those recalling the Golden Era. In particular, "Childish Games" stood out for its late '90s-sounding beat that features thick bass and a hook sampling Notorious B.I.G. Of course, Cons and guest Asher Roth handle their microphone duties, with the latter spitting one of his better verses. Rik Cordero directed the track's video, which is very much in line with his previous, simplistic-but-intriguing visuals. He has a knack for capturing a song's tone and vibe, especially here with that darkening effect.
