Of all the MC’s who are in love with president elect Barack Obama, Common seems the most giddy—on “Changes,” a track off his upcoming Universal Mind Control, he raps about change coming over a beat that sounds like it was recorded for a Sesame Street segment. This is a more laid-back Common compared to the other tracks from UMC that have been released—his voice never rises over enthusiastic chatter. I’m not sure if the Obama speech (it’s the close of his acceptance speech from Tuesday) at the end is going to be on the official version, but it caps off the song’s rosy message pretty well.
