Common’s Invincible Summer may have been pushed back to the fall, but the first single, “Announcement,” has a distinct summer vibe. A major pop hit has eluded Common so far in his career, and “Announcement,” which features Pharrell, and Invincible Summer, which features the Neptunes as producers is an attempt to change that. “Announcement” isn’t Common’s best song, but it’s one that could break him to a larger audience than his acting career.
