Common, Jennifer Hudson, Lupe Fiasco: "We Can Do It Now" Prod. No I.D.
Apparently inspired by online series Gatorade Replay, these four Chicago natives came together to create an anthem for their hometown. Jennifer Hudson kicks things off with an extended intro over squealing blues guitars and harmonica before No I.D. tosses in hand claps, piano, and other instruments to flesh out the beat. Lupe Fiasco tackles the first verse, bouncing all over the production with ease. Unfortunately, after the celebratory hook, Common drops some awkward bars until finally finding his groove about halfway through his verse. The whole thing isborderline cornball, though that's to be expected with any kind of anthem, right? At least we get to hear new verses from Lupe and Com.
