Insofar as there are "breakout artists" from a boutique festival, Colin Stetson might well be that for this weekend's All Tomorrow's Parties. I had more people blowing up my Twitter feed from his performance than any other save Neutral Milk Hotel's, and that's for good reason. Watching Stetson lair saxophone parts and go for broke is always riveting. Stetson has a new EP out today: It's called Those Who Didn't Run, and one of the songs is a monster, 10-minute sax implosion that you can stream below. It's a good intro to Stetson's unique charms: He's reinventing avant sax-jazz for the indie rock set, and he's doing a damn fine job at it.
