Over the weekend, a new track from Drake and former Diddy Dirty Money songstress Dawn Richard entitled "Where Were You" surfaced online. While details surrounding the track and its source were sparse, we can now confirm that the official version of the song is actually by Canadian crooner Colin Munroe, and was used for his recent Unsung Hero mixtape under the title "Whatever Became of You."
The track was produced for Munroe by Toronto beatmakers Boi-1da and D10, and was submitted for Drizzy's 2010 debut album, Thank Me Later. Obviously, it didn't make the final cut, but it was said that the Young Money rapper did record some vocals over the beat--which is likely what we heard before.
With both his original chorus and new verses included, as well as a little self production and additional mixing from Noah "40" Shebib's engineer, Noel Cadastre, you can enjoy Munroe's final version below. Unsung Hero is available to download here.
