Coldplay frontman Chris Martin cedes the spotlight to drummer Will Champion on "The Goldrush," a b-side on the band's "Life In Technicolor II" 7-inch. The song is pretty hokey (even by Coldplay standards) as it's all about trying to get gold in the American West, something I'm sure Coldplay has a ton of experience doing (no, no they don't).
"The Goldrush" also appears on the band's recently released Viva La Vida (Prospekt's March Edition) LP, which is out now via Parlophone. [Stereogum]

Christ! Relax man. It's just a song.
Obviously they dont have experience mining for gold in America as none of us were even alive during that time. And you can't expect every band's material to be a hit - it's a b-side after all, not the single track. Do you write music?? Let's see you write consecutive hit after hit after hit - it ain't easy at all. Where does people's level of disdain come from. It seems like it's a little too hard for some to be happy and let things go that have nothing to even do with them in the first place...
