Jimmy Kimmel reminded viewers last night that Coldplay was the first band to appear on his show back in January 2003. This performance was naturally on a much bigger scale than that one, with Chris Martin and his band offering two songs that will presumably be included on the upcoming new album for a vast audience at UCLA. You know how “Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall” goes by now, but “Charlie Brown" is likely to be less familiar. Both songs are jaunty and anthemic, suggesting this is going to be the most upbeat Coldplay album yet. Did someone slip Martin some happy pills? Check them out above and below, plus a brief interview by Kimmel with the band.
