Cold Wars Kids: "Royal Blue"
Cold War Kids are returning with their third LP early next year, hoping to outlive the backlash that crushed them circa their 2008 LP, Loyalty to Loyalty (and arguably, Robbers & Cowards). "Royal Blue" is the first single from said LP, Mine is Yours, and it's not going to convert many late adopters; this group is still all movie soundtrack soulfulness, idiosyncratic howls and lyrics from greeting cards. But this also probably won't offend the people that are about to comment down there about how this band still has it. Make your own call by listening at Hype Machine.
